East Timor Health Study
This project compared the health outcomes of a sample of 4000 ADF personnel who served in East Timor between 1999 and 2005 with a sample of 2500 personnel who did not deploy in the same time period. Self-report questionnaires and Defence-owned medical and psychological records were analysed and compared to determine any adverse outcomes of deployment. The study reports were released in 2009:
Bougainville Health Study
This project compared the health outcomes of a sample of 4700 ADF personnel who deployed on peace monitoring duties to Bougainville with a sample of 2300 personnel who did not deploy in the same time period. Like the East Timor study, self-report questionnaires and Defence-owned medical and psychological records were the data sources. The study reports were released in 2009:
Solomon Islands Health Study
This project compared the health outcomes of a sample of 500 veterans who deployed to the Solomon Islands between July 2003 and December 2005 with a sample of 500 who did not deploy. Self-report questionnaires were the data source. The study reports were released in 2009:
