New e-Health literature review on Osteoarthritis available

Can the Internet improve health outcomes in osteoarthritis patients and provide reliable information about the disease? A Literature Review.

The aim of this paper was to review published literature investigating the role of the Internet in improving health outcomes in osteoarthritis patients and in providing reliable information about the disease.

Osteoarthritis is the most common musculoskeletal disease in Australia and a leading cause of pain and disability. Perceived shortages in access to medical care and growing pervasiveness of the Internet increase the number of osteoarthritis sufferers turning to the Internet for information and strategies to prevent and manage osteoarthritis.
